UPIC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website upic.ai, an AI-powered portrait generation service. This Privacy Policy applies to all users of our website and services.

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Photos. When you use our Service, you upload a photo to generate AI-styled portraits. These photos are processed temporarily and automatically deleted within 24 hours.
  • Payment Information. When you purchase images, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Analytics Data. We use Vercel Web Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as page views, referral sources, device type, browser, and country. This data does not include personal identifiers and does not use cookies.
  • Session Data. We use browser session storage (not cookies) to temporarily maintain your session state (e.g., generated images, cart items) while you use the app. This data is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate AI-styled portrait images from your uploaded photos.
  • Process payments for purchased images.
  • Deliver purchased unwatermarked images to you.
  • Improve our Service through anonymized analytics.
  • Communicate with you regarding your purchases or support requests.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

We believe in minimal data retention:

  • Uploaded Photos. Automatically deleted within 24 hours of upload.
  • Generated Images. Watermarked previews and unwatermarked purchased images are automatically deleted within 24 hours.
  • Payment Records. Transaction records are retained by Stripe as required for financial compliance. We retain minimal transaction metadata (amount, date, image IDs) for order fulfillment.

6. Cookies

UPIC does not use tracking cookies. We use browser session storage for temporary state management, which is cleared when you close your browser tab. Vercel Web Analytics is cookie-free and privacy-focused.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including:

  • All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption.
  • Payment processing handled by PCI-DSS compliant Stripe.
  • Automatic deletion of photos and generated images within 24 hours.
  • No storage of sensitive payment information on our servers.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Opt out of data collection (note: our analytics are already anonymized).
  • Request information about how your data is processed.

Since we automatically delete all photos and images within 24 hours, most data is already removed by the time any request would be processed. For any data-related requests, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
